Nice one! Was there in my car and had vip to subaru.
Great weekend that I will never forget.

Mad thing was Loeb through the stages.. everyone seemed fast... then he came through way faster!!
Hence why was WRC champ for so many years.
He was unreal and so smooth.

The Subaru’s were savage though... that sound!!!! I near soiled myself...

Chris Atkinson was staying in our hotel too, glass house.
Lovely fella and we had a quick chat.

Those were the days!! Loads of
Money to do whatever living at home!! :)
im not here for a long time,im here for a good time colin mcrae. r.i.p.

Was brilliant. Hotels and general irish greedyness took over and ruined it though. Still was great to see the works teams here and at Galway aswell for testing

Was down aswell had a house booked for the week in manor hamiliton Was a great site to see so many wrc cars .

Agree , the greed of some people ruined it, the amount of places ripping people off was shocking . I remember the stage was blocked off and you had to walk 4K to get to it and they ran a bus and was 5 euros each way but had to pay for both ways at the start .
The buses fooked off after bringing 5/600 people up and everyone had to walk the 4K back . anyway wasn't happy neither was anyone else . The next morning there were 3 buses burn out in Sligo belong to the bus company the nite before . He short changed the wrong lads it seemed

Ya Scoobyke, keith555 and myself when nt up there too, as Graham said, leob was unreal.

Very disappointed with the weekend and how it was ran.

Service area was interesting but again very unorganized.
as Marcus Gronholm once said "up the arse of timo"...

Great times. Eugene Donnelly beating Marcus Gronholm in Galway as a shakedown for wrc. Someone is supposed to have heard Gronholm ask team bosses at service before the next loop would he just continue to take it handy or push. Not sure if it's true.

    That’s true.
At the time Ireland had more WRC car per capita, than anywhere else in the
    World.

    Fact!!

Just before the boom went bang!!

We all remember the cars on the stages back then and the quality of them...

Think there was more wrc cars in the itrc than in the WRC at one stage too?
Alot of names just went over night when the boom burst.

Would love to experience it all again but the way things are going we'll be lucky to see rallying survive properly with this insurance sh1te. Galway being cancelled is a disaster, it even ran in the recession so shows how serious it is.

There was 18 irish drivers entered in WRCs at rally ireland 2007.

The statistic of more per capita is correct and most i remember on any single entry list may have been 22 irish drivers at galway in 2007. Few more in garages around the country there could have been 30 plus from 97 Escort WRC up to S12 WRC at the time!!
