1.25 zetec fairly bullet proof if well maintained, 1.3 endura are dirt.
Not very common but Zetecs can burn a sip of oil and foul cat sometimes usually due failing coil/leads causing misfire and not dealt with in time. Cat is complete manifold and approx €300 spurious. Should be indicated by engine light on.
Belt due 10 years 120k miles.
If running 195/45r16's check for buckled wheels very common not a problem if on 14 or 15 rim.
Can't remember if they suffer rust on sills like previous model but have a look for bubbling or signs of previous repair.
Focus with similar 1.4 zetec can suffer with water ingress on spark plugs and if not dealt with in time can lead to snapped spark plugs and a world of hurt, again can't remember if this applied to fiesta but pull out plug leads and look for signs of rusty plugs.
    Broken front coil springs.
Vacuum leak from breather pipe under inlet manifold causes rough idle.
Fuel gauge stuck full or empty.
If alloy wheels the chrome caps can come off the wheel nuts and you will need 18mm socket to remove, a dose of flat tyre on side of road and only standard 19mm brace in the boot.
And all the usual checks, oil coolant, all dash lights coming on and off.
