Do You Have An Anti Lag Map? I Want To Know Your Opinion

Put anti lag on it  you will have it on all the time the first week after that will only be the odd time

have mild antilag fitted on the legacy and it good .

regarding the mapper I went with aonghus but it's everyone's personal choice

Don't know to be honest, just thought it was standard practice. AP performance also looked for a 50 deposit but the next date was the end of June, but just couldn't wait that long.

I've just been on their facebook page looking for any negative feedback and can't find any.

They seem to be travelling around Europe with drifting teams that they map and the only online feedback I could find was a boards post from Skyline owners swearing by them.

So maybe (or hopefully) the negative experiences I have been made aware of are in the past.

Their name won't come up under any negative posts on forums due to threats of litigation. On said forums, when a user types TDP it goes through the swear filter and comes up as ***.

Thanks for all your detailed responses, very informative and gives me alot of food for thought.

Controversial subject aul anti lag.

The anti lag you will get will be nothing more than sound effects.. functioning anti lag needs an air supply when you let your foot off throttle... functioning anti lag on a road car with power assisted breaks= disaster.

Like Tommy said I would possible get some sound effects mapped in on over run... and standard 2.5 and anti lag/launch control is not a great idea.

Personally wouldn't bother with anti lag.

But would want a "Safe" & good map

TDP mapped my old blob eye sti , did a great job imo, still going strong,AP mapped type r , also very good, decisions, decisions.

Mr power advised me against anti lag and launch control
He said "it's for the rally lads who don't mind sticking on a new turbo every few months" so I took his advice.
But it's up to you

Agree with what John is saying here - Robbie is good at threatening legal action - if my memory serves right he did the same here about 10 years ago. His missus was on here for a while & led the charge!
Lads posting above might be best editing their posts or having examples of specific cases they know of that resulted in bad mapping.

My point of view on antilag is don't do it - Well unless you have the money to fix the things that can/will break from over-use. I had pops & bangs mapped in to mine on the overrun & it was just as enjoyable on a day to day basis.

I can only vouch for AP but ahongus seems to be universally liked by the lads, I've been mapped by him twice and am very happy. I don't remember having to pay a deposit the first time but defo didn't the second time.

I would have taken anti lag but he couldn't put it on, he is very realistic with what can and cannot be done on the car so prepare to be told no.

It's completely up to yourself and as you know cars can blow up any time, but from what if heard the stock 2.5 wouldn't be the strongest thing that's ever rolled out of the Subaru line, not sure anti lag would be the most sensible but fook it life is for living. If anti lag was possible on my ecu I would have got it!

Thanks lads. I'm doing it!! :Imprezaimage:

What kind of swayed me is the post I seen on scoobynet from the Jolly Green Monster who are a tuning company in the UK that specialise in mapping Subaru's, and obviously your replies also

Please see below their response to see if that makes sense to you. It seems when we get anti lag mapped it isn't as strong as true anti lag.

Simon was a gent and was mapping Subaru's for a long long time and was very good at it ....he was a great loss to Subaru heads all over the place.....

I got my 2.5 STI Hawk (EJ257) mapped by Bob Rawle - another well respected mapper with an excellent name / record.

He was very clear and outspoken in his opinion : on a standard 2.5, wrx or sti, do not use anti-lag or launch control. He said that he would configure them free of charge as part of the mapping session if I wanted them, but that it would damage the standard engine before long. He said the ring lands cannot deal with the violence caused by either of those and will fail before long. He didn't mention turbo issues, just the ring lands on the EJ255 EJ257 pistons.

I believe Simon passed on his customer base to Duncan Graham in Race Dynamix before he passed away. You can book him through Dave in RSR.

Simon was and will be 1 off the best mappers for the Subaru til he's passing

Had good few chats with him at meets and ferry crossing
