Export Repayment Scheme

Hi All,

A lot has been said about how much VRT needs to be paid when importing a Subaru into Ireland but has anyone exported one from Ireland to another EU member state?

At some point I will be leaving Ireland and intend on taking my V4 STI with me. A friend recently told me how he obtained of VRT refund: http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/vrt/export-repayment-scheme/faqs.html

I checked the website and used the "VRT Export Repayment Calculator" (https://www.ros.ie/evrt-enquiry/vrtenquiry.html?execution=e2s2) but got a ridiculous quote of over 6k VRT refund available if I export the car.

Has anyone on here witnessed exporting a Subaru and getting VRT refunded? If yes, what sort of refund was it?
