My 2003 T-Sport Celica

The first one was at the second last corner behind the paddock. He was past the apex and said the back just let go. Id say he lifted off and got over steer. Fish tailed then once or twice and then fired him off left into the barrier. Some bang off it. Brought the whole paddock to silence after the bang!

Second one was the last corner. Forgot to brake basically. Over the crest and straight on, across the gravel and into the tyre wall. Very light damage though.

Small cosmetic upgrade!

Before and after.

Haven't updated this in a while. I was out last Friday the 19th with trackdays.ie. day was fully booked so track was busy.

Before going I took the car to get the tracking etc done. I wanted as much negative camber front and back as I could get and a slight tow in on the rear wheels for some heat. After a mix up with the front camber bolts I got there in the end. As long as I have the car I never had the tracking done. He said it was shocking bad! So I ended up with good negative camber front and back and some tow in on the rear. And all aligned. To say it improved the car is an understatement! My fastest lap on Friday was a full 1.7 seconds quicker than I had ever gone around there. The car turned in so much better and held so much better. I was delighted.

Video of a few laps below.

My next steps are a second set of camber bolts for the bottom Bolt. A set of Polybushes and a set of seven mototsport stage 2 cams. For the winter months,!

God no. New set of Tein coilovers and there set to the hardest! Just a lot of forces going on there ????

That lean on the front is what I was talking about Martin. It’s allowing the car to wash out a little mid corner. Suspension could be fine but maybe look at a stiffer anti roll bar or maybe some adjustable drop links.
Great to see you still improving them times. The car looks great and I love following the progress[emoji106]

Out of interest Martin why do you set the dampers to full hard ?
You could be losing out on some needed grip there .
You want a fwd car lose at the rear when you lift the throttle to get the nose turned in

Good question. I dont know to be honest. I always figured harder was better. I find the car is quite loose on the back in general...

I’ve heard lads say that aswell , it’s certainly not the case though especially on bumpy sections turn 4 and Parabolica out the back of the circuit.

Control the body with anti roll bars and I find if you start off at a mid setting on dampers and increase until the car starts hopping mid corner on a hot tyre (losing grip) then slacken them off slightly .

Sometimes if the car is too low it can also cause more roll due to the suspension geometry being out and there is roll center kits to correct this .

Been a very quite few months for this car! But spring is coming and work has recommended. Bought a fully poly bush kit for the whole car. Some of the old bushings were very shook! At it the last few days. Also bought front and rear white line anitroll bars. And some uprated anti roll bar links. Hoping these will help with some improved handling. Got a walbro 255ltr fuel pump and a set of denso 550cc injectors. Still have to fit these. Won't make much difference until i get an ecu and map sorted. Picked up a veilside front bumper too. Will get spraying that soon now too. Will be april before i get on track so loads of time yet! Few pics below....
