MY DC5 INTEGRA..

Was more than half the thread left on the eagles when I sold them haha

These are not replacing the Michelins, these are going on the standard dc5 wheels which I picked up during the year.

The Michelins and the rotas are going into hibernation until at least August/September

Not a lover of the dc5 but my god you have converted me. Car is a credit to you pal. Those tyres are serious the only problem I had with them was I ordered a soft compound and they didn't last very long. Harder compound is the option I should of went for.

Cheers Jay its a lot of hard work but its worth it.

I don't know what compound I have ordered but I presume the harder ones. I will find out soon enough haha

Ordered a set of these on Monday.

Cant wait to see how they perform out on track and general day to day driving during the summer

Great tyres we use them in ITCC production class. Great wear on them and o think they only come in one compound these days!

What's the dc5 like to insure when I went looking at quotes for one they kept thinking it was a 1.8 dc2 ????

These arrived today at my work

cant wait to get them fitted and put them to use on the 12th.

Niall Moore sourced these for me cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Very professional to deal with. If anyone is on the look out for track tires I would recommend him.

This morning I had the daunting task to fit the below into the back of the teg. Thought I might have to make 2 trips

Dont no why I worried. In they went no bother with loads of extra room. Makes me think could a DC5 be commercialised ha

New wheels and tires on

Thoughts on the ADO8R

Firstly not performance based but they are possibly the best looking thread of any tire.

Left the tire centre, steering immediately felt sharper (razor sharp). Comfort level was also increased. Going from 18s with 40mm sidewall to 17s with 45mm sidewalls.

Was expecting them to be very crashy and harsh but its the opposite.

Probably the biggest advantage of having these tires with 17s is that you can really feel the diff working now. With the 18s you had to be fairly pushing it to feel the diff engage but with these even light throttle around a corner and the diff engages. Just pulls you around the corner with minimal effort.

I have only done around 10kms on these tires so far so its hard to give a proper review but within those short kms its immediately obvious that the dry grip of ADO8R are on a different level to Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I wasnt expecting this.

Waiting to see what they are like in the rain. I am sure this is where the Michelin will shine over the yokohamas

Quick pic of the teg at cars and coffee yesterday.

I quiet like how the oem wheels look compared to the 18''

To put Honda wheel caps on or not ?

Havent updated this thread in ages because well I havent dont anything the octane track day, drive and clean it.

The week building up to the octane track day I remember being very sunny all week. In my head I thought a perfect opportunity to test out these AD08R tyres.

Wake up friday morning to torrential rain. Was tempted to put the michelins back on the morning of the track as I thought I would die out there on the semi slicks.

2 hours later I arrived down to mondello and the michelins stayed at home.

Off I set out onto the drenched track. The first few laps I took it really handy, zero vtec. I came in to check my tyre pressure. Adjusted them to 30psi all round and off out I went again. Lap after lap I carefully added more speed. I got to the point where the tyres just spun going around the corners with the diff fighting for grip. That was basically the whole morning.

Towards the end of the morning session it dried up ever so slightly so I got to push the AD08R a little bit. The turn in response is incredible and you feel a great connection in the steering wheel between the tyres and the surface. The car just felt so much more planted compared to road tyres. With road tyres around mondello (eagle f1 or PS4), under hard braking the rear end would get light and twitchy. With the AD08R this never happened. Inspired huge confidence.

Anyway that was my first wet track experience and I loved it.

This time around I noticed my lines and braking points had greatly improved. Meaning I Could keep up with alot more cars than I was use to.

I think I might start timing my laps from now on so I can track my improvements.

I have heard good things about harrys lap timer.

Only managed to get 3 pictures of my car during the entire day as I was too busy out on track and chatting cars

Plans for June are to order the rbc intake manifold and book my car in to get the 4 lower control arm bushings replaced with oem ones as there is some play on the passenger side.
