checking the oil

do you guys have the problem with the dipstick too? Always when I take it out, its completely wet from oil, so its very difficult to find out how much oil is actually in there. Any tips?

PS: I know for 100% I have correct amount, just yesterday, I drained it and put a new oil in, exactly 4.5l, but the stick is getting wet way way way above

Is the car on level ground?
How long after the car is turned off do you check it?

Are you wipe the oil off the stick before you put it back in

I know you put 4.5 in but did you get 4.5 out in the first place

So, what happens is, when I am taking the dipstick out the first time, the tube gets dirty, so even when I clean it and drop it down again, the dipstick is again dirty on sides as well...

I got out everything, car was about 2-3 hours off, it was still warm, but should be long enough so the oil gets settled. I can see on the dipstick in the middle of it, that its dry there, but on sides its wet.

I am not saying its impossible to check correct amount, its just very hard to spot, and I usually need to take the dipstick out like 5times before its clear that the middle is dryish
