Half way through the clean up of this scenic delighted with how well it's cleaning up,there was stuff growing on the seats not to mention a few bags of monster munch walked into the carpets[emoji30]but it's on the right road now[emoji106]

Found the reason my boot locks wouldn't work also fog light and internal door lights,
This is the circuit board for all the cars electronics and the little resistor in the pic was fried[emoji30]
Not this I'm told is s 500 Euro fix with Renault as they replace the unit and reprogram the new one!!!
But after some research I found that this is a simple 60ohm resistor rated for 200ma so after a wee trip to radionics "my favourite shop"and 1 euro 60 cent later I had 5 of these bad boys[emoji1]

Now fog lights boot lock and door lights are perfect[emoji106][emoji106]it pays to do research!

Ya seems to be a common problem with a lot of cars mostly Renault'
Seems to be caused by jump starting, the surge seems to blow that resistor!

I think the simtek suffered that
be handy if you could get one of them and fire a resistor in
but I don't think I'd risk it

It's easy blow a resistor I see a lot of this in houses with power surges blowing electronics,
I have a surge protector fitted on my board as I have a lighting system it the house that would be very vulnerable to a power surge.
If you could open the Simtek and seen what's burnt I'm sure it would be handy enough to replace the resistor or capacitor that may be blown..

Big clean up today of the Scenic few more small bits to do before the NCT.
Just buffed and polished the car and it came up grand and gave the inside a good clean up.
This car was manky pity I didn't take much photos of how dirty it was.
