Where to start.... (parents are both petrol heads).. just a few that I have fond memories of.
- 1958 Vanden Plas Princess with a RR 6.4L (wooden floors, 2x 6volt batteries in the floor one on either side, dual tone paint job, smell of wood and leather)
- 1964 MB 350SE (w112) 3.5L (little wings at the back, all red, including red leather, white steering wheel, autobox and a horn that moohed like a cow ;-)
- 1967 Chevvy Corvette Stingray 7.0L (sounded so good it made me cry -- with joy... and I was about 6-7 at the time in the early 80's)
- 1976 Chevvy Impala 7.4L (another great sounding car, 6mpg, wide enough for my 6ft dad to lie in the rear window parcel shelf fully stretched
a total ball ache to find parking for though unless you found at least two spaces side by side).
- 1982 Chevvy Caprice 4.4L (very plush and luxurious back in the early 80s compared to other motors around - and electric everything... remember some hooligan broke a mirror off during the night one time and the father nearly got sick when he was quoted 600 for a replacement back in about 1984)
- 1982 Ford Capri 2.8 Turbo (German import limited edition lhd - liked it because dad and mum always in a good mood when they drove this one)
- 1990 Suzuki Swift GTI (Mum bought it new with fat wide alloys on it. Later on I drove it for about 2 years in '94-'96 and great car, great memories)
There are loads more, but these spring to mind right now.
