Track day car

That trailer I use was made in a shed by two lads and it's straight as a die, I've had it at inappropriate speeds with the ka on it and no issue. It really depends on the axles used and the straightness they are fitted with.

So started work extending the axels this afternoon,I split the transit axle and cut four sections of 40x40 angel iron to re sleeve.
My welding is not great but I hope it gets better by the end of this job.

Don't think I'll bother with springs I was using Decs trailer and it didn't have springs and was nice to pull.

Cheers lad some are bad but it's just lack of power in the welder,I have a bigger one that I can use on the heavy steel on the axel.Ill have to buy a nice mig welder some time[emoji30]

Little update on my trailer, one axel finished this evening and happy enough with how it turned out.

Also got my 50x75 box for the main chassis of the trailer, some are saying this is a bit heavy but my thinking is if it's a strong chassis I won't need any nasty looking bracing around it or under it!
I'll just build the angel iron tray on top of the chassis with the two wheel runners made from some nice strong mesh or same..

I got the box cut in 5m lengths the idea is to find the correct geometry slot bend and weld the main triangle chassis,I'll miter any joints so not to leave any open ends.

looks like it will be nice and low, make it easy for loading.
maybe you've been through this, but i'll through it out there just incase.
axel position is important, too far forward and tail will catch on rises, too far back and you'll have too much nose weight(most tow bars have shockingly low load weights).
i can't remember which way it was(forwards or backwards) the brian james rs4 shuttle i had was great to tow at any speed. they moved the axles on the rs5 and its a tank slappy fecker in comparison.

I have looked at this most seem to be off centre bias to the rear and I'm keeping 150mm between the tyres hoping this will help the trailer on turns.
Just hope it turns out ok[emoji1]

best of luck with the the test, are you renting a trailer?
just be carefull if you are, there is some bullshit rule about having a tonne of blocks in it, also has to be certain dimensions.

My mate has a closed body I for Williams,think it's 600kg of blocks I need[emoji30]
It's some money racket,I applied for my theory test today 45euro because I licence do long.when I pass that I can get my learner permit for BE then I can go do test,so im looking at a few weeks of crap to get it[emoji53]
