I would say go new age.

Sc42 billet twin scroll and retain top mount.

385bhp or so.

Very very nice in a twin scroll car.
Would the sc42 Billet be good for the figures i would like to see ? , I ideally would like to have 400hp / 400 ft lb.
Ill do the supporting modifications there is no problem with that , Once i know that the engine is safe enough running at that .
As said it will be a weekend car or for a couple track days too but i wont be pushing it to its limits on track too much , And on the road i will be giving it a little bit here and there and that .
The car that i actually have my eye on now has a front mount on the car already , would this be of advantage going for 400hp or would the top mount have been a better left on ?
390-400 on boarder. Higher then that yes go fmic.

But again that all depends on what brand etc.

And you can never know how long an engine will hold at that. 6 months or 10 years. You never know.

Regards figures. Its about how the car drives. We been over that in the past.

What if you got 390/390

One rollers says its 410. One says its 395. Ones says its 405 etc.

If the car was 390/390 and was a serious nice drive would you be disappointed?
No i would not be disappointed at all with 390 / 390 im just setting the 400/400 as a rounded off mark for myself but i would like very close to it , I know the hole story with dyno's and that for inconsistency but there is one dyno which i will be running my car on and i have used it over the past 4 years with other cars i have had and always seen realistic figures and it wasn't an ego booster figure achieved from a higher reading dyno's like others that i have been on .

Would i not be better off then going for a slightly better turbo as i wouldn't like to have the turbo on boarder line with the power im running ? id like to leave a little margin even if meant a little less response to achieve the higher power once not killing it too much to achieve full boost fast enough .

Its all about spool. So nope wouldnt advise bigger turbo unless your cc was bigger.

Remember your boost restricted on standard pistons also.

So if was forged 2.0 you would map area 1.8 bar

Also fuel restricted on 95 compared to UK's V Power

Yes up in Swords.

Really clean car.

Re: Subaru Impreza Spec C Or Type R V lIMITED Version 6 WANTED Cash Waiting !!

You could do something a bit different if you don't mind doing the work. Set about 10k as your budget..
Buy a Type R, one with no engine... And spend the rest if the budget on a complete newage set up, engine, box etc etc, and tune that up a bit.. 350-360 in a type r would be more exciting than a newage with 400...

If you want a newage car, and are planning on tuning it to 400.. It doesn't make sense to me to pay the extra premium for a spec c... When you still will have to pay x amount to get 400 out if it the same as a normal sti...
You could have a 2005 spec c standing you 18k at 400bhp or a normal 2005 sti standing you 12-13k at 400

Dont want the hassle of all that to be honest , trouble of having to paint a shell that i buy that im not happy with and things like that would see it go far over budget as im very picky and like my cars very very clean all round , Also i love the look of the new age impreza and know that it will be extremely hard to find the older version 6 V-limited to the standards id like so ive prob better chances of finding the car i want in the newer age impreza.

Re: Subaru Impreza Spec C Or Type R V lIMITED Version 6 WANTED Cash Waiting !!

get a blog going please
id love to see that

Re: Subaru Impreza Spec C Or Type R V lIMITED Version 6 WANTED Cash Waiting !!

There's a reason Spec'c don't come off the production line with 400bhp, because to safely guarantee that kind of power requires a forged build. The example the only Subaru Impreza to come off the production line with over 350bhp was the cs400...which was 50k sterling.
The sensible approach would be either you build a car capable of safely taking 400bhp, engine, chassis and gearbox or buy a 400hp car.
There's no other industry but car tuning that gives such lose limits, the safe tested, warranted limits of the Spec c are 350bhp on Super Unleaded,....as far as I know no other tuner is offering a drive away warranty on that engine with higher output...and those engines are factory new

Re: Subaru Impreza Spec C Or Type R V lIMITED Version 6 WANTED Cash Waiting !!

I've owned a lot subaru now. All shapes and sizes. Had a jdm twin scroll blob so no far from a spec c. Stage one mods . Savage car. But sold it.

My first ever was a v3 type r and the blob to me was no were near as fun to drive. So I ended up back in a type r an spent mad money getting it to 400bhp. Some crack to drive . But there getting rare now in that sort nick. So be ready pay I premium now I think.

best luck in search hope find the car u want :stismiley

Your car is savage man can't wait to see it in the flesh some day

Re: Subaru Impreza Spec C Or Type R V lIMITED Version 6 WANTED Cash Waiting !!

Ive seen a couple of people running 400hp or so in the blob eye sti with standard internals just upgraded turbo and on 95 octane fuel and been fine , i know its a matter of it could be 10 weeks or 10 years , the Tuner who i have asked to do my car when i get it told me 400hp can be achieved handy enough on the blob eye engine with the right turbo and tuning , he favours the alcatec ecu's but said he also does a couple of different stock ecu softwares available too .

Yes dave he said its the widetrack one and that its the 05 Facelift blob eye with the slightly newer interior bits too
