U connect the green connectors Colm to read and write to the ECU. So ur saying Adrian if they are not connected your car won't start? Or just drives bad or what? Are u sure u reinstalled the turbo? :) non turbo legacy makes 170hp! Not far off yours!
Ha ya feels like it:)when I disconnect the green connectors I can't even start the car!!
That's very strange. I'll meet u during the week if u want to compare wiring. Yours is an auto I think, but wiring shouldn't be too different. There is also some black connectors on drivers side I think, I can't remember if they are always connected or not. I'll check tomorrow

If there was knock it can pull the IAM multiplier from 1 which is basically the main figure used for the timing, if it knocked bad enough or some other problems that can drop right down. I sure Aongus could of spotted that. Could he even read from ECU?

Battery out for a few mins will reset ECU alright

Yea that would be great Dan to compare wireing there must be something simple enough wrong,Aunghus didn't even get to read my ecu at all!

Weird alright. Drop me a text anyway. Can meet u any day after work from tomorrow to Friday or whenever suits. As I said only time I couldn't read from mine was when poxy ecutek software locks u out. Are u the first Irish owner of yours? I can't see an ecutek'ed car making that power though unless major knock event freaked it out. Reset should clear any stuff like that. Hopefully its an easy fix! I can read and write and log etc with mine with the software on my laptop and a cheapo vagcom eBay cable! Give us a buzz tomorrow if u want to try get to the bottom of it.

OK so check if the green connectors on PASSENGER side are connected or not. :) I'll run down and check my drivers side ones after this beer!

Duncan does open source. No need to waste money on ecutek license. So I checked mine..drivers side green connector is connected. White plug is not connected to anything. Over to the passenger side, greens are disconnected along with some black connectors. To read/write to my ECU I connect green connectors aswell on passenger side and that allows access to ecu

I'll check that on mine Aunghus didn't look that side for connectors at all

Is the white one used to code remote key or something like that.

Afaik, being able to reset the ecu ended with the classic impreza, all new ones need a computer to reset them.. Presume legacy is the same

Yeah I remember Joe was looking only on drivers side only too until I told him about one on passenger side, that must be how the imprezas are set up. Legacy's are special! Let us know how u get on. These are same setup basically as 08+ imprezas.

Just found them green connectors on the passanger side and there disconnected I guess that's why I Aunghus couldn't read the ECU:(
So I have re connected green plugs on the driver side and left white plugs disconnected so back to square one now!!

Strictly speaking you aren't resetting it, but if disconnected the current setting will be wiped , worked on previous model legacy
