so after a really great day at the isdc day I killed the ka's gearbox so a few days after the trackday I stuck it up on the ramp and removed the gearbox and found it was munched :argh: so I decided to fit a gearbox from a ford focus 1.6 petrol as it has the latest spec ib5 gearbox and should be stronger than the puma box .but the issue is that the focus has a cable shift system in stead of the rod shift of the puma so any way got the box in and all back together except for the shifter knocked it into gear to test drive it and the shafts are spinning in the box :banghead :banghead :banghead so I need to get shafts from a similar box like a 2003- fiesta so that's where im at now ,hope to get it sorted next week so I can do the mondello day 14dec

I'm very impressed with this car dec , credit to you as I can see all the work that went into it .

She will be flying again
should have the fiesta out at that track day for its shake down ????

got at the ka tonight and fitted the shafts in got it all back together and the car wouldn't drive fierce tearing coming from the box area :banghead so back up on the ramp and pulled the box out traced the problem to the clutch see below

this was supposed to be an uprated clutch :angry1: ,anyway got a clutch from the stores and fitted it in to the ka refitted the gearbox and topped up the oil bled the clutch

next on the to do list was to fit the gear shift and cables ,as this car never had any of this in it I had to drill the bulk head to allow the cables run into the engine bay I also had to make up a bracket to lift the shifter off the floor up to where I want it positioned its not finished yet just partially done but you can see the position is a lot better than the original .heres some pics but no where near finished yet I hope to finish next Tuesday eve its hard to get the time so I hope its finished for the trackday
