Sti type R wanted

I was looking for 7 months and still couldn't find one so bought a 2005 blob instead. There wasn't a clean one to be had..

Make sure you take a paint thickness gauge with you, and go over every panel. I found so many with filler in the quarter panels, rust on the inside of the rear quarters.

seen that alright . . is there any ways of telling its a genuine spec c if i went to look at it ?
Spec-C checklist
Roof vent.
Small oil cooler to the left in behind front number plate.
Water tank in boot for intercooler spraybar under bonnet.
Thinner window glass.
Aluminium roof, bonnet and bootlid also i believe.
100kg lighter than an STi
No remote boot release in the cabin(Key only)
Vin number should have FH instead of EH as last two numbers (GDBB4FH as example. This changed from year to year though)
The ride is harder compared to an STi
Less sound deadening(Check the boot looks unfinished)

The motorsport version has no central locking and winding windows. Good look with the search.

thanks some great info there. . but id say il be trying to find a type R

You'll pay a bit more going to the UK but its the most likely way to get a clean one. The grey one is gorgeous and the black one could be with a change of wheels. First time i've ever heard of a type r referred to as the japanese P1

seriously liking the grey one . . has anyone ever seen it in person as its a long spin up (i live in cork)

lads,
there is a lovely rally blue type r for sale in inishannon west cork, i pass it every morning, it was on done deal a bit ago, after rebuild etc in predator motorsport, body work is exceptional and has gold innovit wheels, looks like a nice motor!

ya im interested in that one, i was also thinking of going over to see this one http://www.hurstcars.co.uk/used-cars/subaru-impreza-bedford-201203443446074 what do ye think ?
If I get a chance I'll spin up and take a look...He looks to be a Subaru specialist..depends on what type of guarantee he's offering at that price as well...

£6750 converts to 8130 euro
+1140 to vrt

= 9270

Then you are going to have to get the ferry which will be at least 100 euro, plus your going to use about 100 euro on juice.. probably more Bedford is the arse end of nowhere as far as airports and transport..can you fly to luton from ireland?

That brings the grand total to 9470...you would get a LOT of car for that in Irleand
