What did you do to your car today?

Had turbo'd cars for 15 years never had an issue, or fitted a turbo timer

If you can't drive normal when going the last mile home, or sit in the count to 10
Giving it a chance to cool down. You not going to rag it til you switch it off

To be honest, I've always given the car at least the last bit of driving to spin down and have always made the concerted effort to let the turbo spin down and let the oil cool down but lets be honest here you won't ALWAYS have the time to sit in the car to let it cool down, its for this reason i got the timer, Plus like Ciaran said it looks cool :D

Good man grahamo :54:

Fitting RB320 rear discs and Brembos on a Classic

So planning to do Donegal this year and the entry is guaranteed up by €200. Therefore the upgrade budget gets hammered. I got a second hand set of rear Brembos from Podge through the Forum (Thanks again Podge!) and then a set of RB320 discs through e-Bay. The discs had to be drilled to suit 110 mm PCD hubs - straight forward enough.
Two challenges - first fitting the Brembo calipers on Classic rear hubs and secondly sorting rear brake shoes to suit the larger drum diameter.
I machined the caliper brackets from billet 6082T6 aluminium. Marchant Engineering looked after the anodizing. The shoes - bought a set of Mintex shoes and used the original shoes to make a set measuring 22 mm larger on the outside diameter. Carbon Loraine RC6 pads, All in total cost is approx. €400 - not including labour but since it's the toy it's wrong to think of it as labour. Roll on June!

You can use the 2 off M8 holes intended for jacking the drum off the hub to secure the original disc to the new one. Clamp the lot and transfer the 110 PCD holes through.

It worked out at 11 mm of "extra" drum diameter required. The chamfers are for good penetration when welding. I only welded one run at a time and allowed the shoe to cool fully - the linings are well able for that level of heat.

Bit of sheet metal work to change the shape of the backplate to suit the discs. It's light stuff and forms easy enough.

Anyone know the torque setting for the M10's on the Brembos? Use loctite or not?
