PISTON MELTED DUE TO DET. OWNER RUNNING UNMAPPED AND ON 95RON FUEL. SO WITH HEADS OFF WISELY SHORT ENGINE WAS ALSO REBUILT USING HIS SUBARU CRANKSHAFT, ACL RACE SERIES MAIN AND BIG END BEARINGS, STI CONRODS, STI PISTONS, STI METAL HEAD GASKETS, NEW TIMING BELT, NEW SUBARU TIMING TENSIONER, ALL x4 IDLER PULLEYS, FLYWHEEL SPIGGOT BEARING, NEW FRONT AND REAR CRANKSHAFT SEALS. AND ANY GASKETS THEREAFTER NEEDED RENEWING. AND FRESH OILS, COOLANT AND PLUGS. ENGINE BLOCK WAS FACED AND BORES HONED. ALSO HEADS WERE FRESHLY SKIMMED, VACCUM AND PRESSURE TESTED. OWNER ALSO TOOK CHANCE WHEN ENGINE WAS OUT TO FIT OUR NEWLY AVAILABLE REFURB OPTION OF INLET MANIFOLD AND MATCHING ROCKER COVERS.

Very nice Dave. I like the matching red manifold and rocker covers.

What sort of money would a build like that cost?
 
all builds are different due to parts being found needed upon stripping. Also other builders do not face and hone the block or skim heads. This is e360 alone. Also some reuse oil pump and oil modines. Another e380. Can see how can be differences in figures quoted for builds as not like for like.
 
I see. Would that be considered a forged build with those STi pistons?
