Pondering an Oil Change

Hello All,

Pondering an oil change with my legacy, only put 3500km on it since it's last one but,i was wondering what volume the leggy holds once its drained?

Fully synthetic oil i'm after i believe as well.Got to get myself a set of axle stand as well to do it....cant wait :icon_rolleyes:

Yes a good fully synthetic oil is needed. Motul, Red line, Mobil 1 etc.
About 4.5 litres i think will do.
If you buy motul oil it comes in 2 litre cans so you buy 6 litres and keep the spare for top ups
10W40 is the normal grade that Subaru use. And good for normal use.
I use 15W50 in my Impreza which was recomended to me as better when the car is mapped and its main use is spirited Weekend driving not short trips to work etc.

The factory figure is 4.7 litres,
But as above 4.5 will usually do because off oil left in after draining,
Don't forget to fill the filter thoroughly before putting it on!
Have fun! Use genuine filter!

Nothing like servicing your own car for job satisfaction
Pull off the crank sensor and let her spin around a few times before firing or just turn the kay a few times without letting her fire- just to prime the oil pump and get the bearings wet
Cheers

Castrol RS 10W60 is the motorsport grade oil! I never understood the grading of oil!
