weird noise when starting engine cold

anybody ever get a weird noise when starting engine cold like something spinning very fast
very loud metal grinding sound lasts a few seconds only but will happen every time i start it till
it heats up although its not as loud after 1st start.sorry if this sounds cofusing its like that sound if you turn the ignition off as the car is trying to start ...

Could be the starter motor bearings

Could be the starter on the way out alrite, easy enough to take off , might be worth

checkin off the car, connected up to a battery.

sounds like the starter solenoid is dodgy to me. maybe not engaging fully, that would make a whirring spinning noise
