Hi,
on my 98 Legacy it seems that the BOV is not working correctly (or it is the wrong one on it)
Yesterday I drove down to Cashel and on the M7 I kept to 130 km/h. I permanently had the whissling noise from the BOV as if it is open the whole time.
I took the BOV out last night and increased the tension of the spring inside the BOV with a few washers. It seems that this action has improved the situation, but not fixed it fully. I also think that because the BOV is open during normal cruise my engine runs too rich on fuel. The MAF register more air taken into the system as it is going into the engine since the BOV leaks.
Is anyone here having a similar issue or an idea what BOV should be on my Legacy?
