So this morning was the 2nd time today the car wouldn't start for me first time, last time was about a month ago. Both times the outside temperature was below 10. The car will start after a few seconds of turning the ignition and them its fine. Im thinking it might be related to the thermostat in the engine since it seems to be affected by outside temperatures. Anyone else experience anything like this before?

well to eliminate it plug it out and try and start the car while it's cold. if it starts easy that's your problem.

i presume so, would a failing battery be the problem, checked the voltage of the battery when i got into work this morning and it was fine at 14 volts. if the car doesnt start in the morning ill check the volts again

if the car is taking a little longer to start, then the battery is also not the problem!!!!
ideally you need a diagnostic check done...
that should be able to tell you what temp parameter the sensor is at!!!!
the vw's used to go to -40 degrees and that was a good signal to replace the sensor
the scoobies might do the same :ponder2: :ponder2:
