Lads anyone know where i can get an secondhand airbox, the sensor on the K&N induction kit is fubared, and getting the flat spots through the rev's as a result. Subaru Garage reccom going back to the original airbox, what are yer opinions?

Unless its mapped for the induction kit id go back to panel filter.

Your not really gonna see any noticeable performance difference with a cone filter, so its probably more sensible/safer to just stick the original airbox on again, with a good panel filter as said above.

There was some talk of the sensors not reacting well to cone filters on 98/99 cars. apparently the vibrations could kill them over time. May be a scare story, but probably not worth takin the risk.

thanks scooby, no good do, has to be wrx for bugeye model.

@renno & Rcomms ya re-read the scoobynet mods where they try cone and panel filters, and they revert back to the box with a k&n filter cause more low end power but the cone was causing some 'spurge' which i think means irregular air flow.

Thanks guys again

Yeah unless your going front mount and doing alot more id just stick with panel filter. Induction kit will fu*k the car up. K+N Or Green Cotton Filter IMO.
