need info, wrx sti impreza 98

as said above, im wanting to buy my first impreza, a wrx sti 98... done know much about these though, what are main things to check for? whats problems are they prone to? any help given will be much appreciated, cheers

Is it Irish or Jap?

If it's jap you'll want one that has paper work to say it was mapped but you'd be better off getting one thats only in and getting it mapped yourself.

The clutch goes in them so check that It's in good nick when you test drive it. Drive to about 6000 revs, power off and put the Clutch in if the revs rise at this stage the clutch is on it's way out.

Check the DCCD if a Jap and make sure it's working and the diffs aren't knocking.

Try get any original part such as the Exaust as you'll need themfor the NCT.
