Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor

Can anyone tell me where the exhaust gas temperature sensor is located? is this the same thing as the no.1 lamda sensor?

I think it plugs into the down pipe, just before the cat and after the turbo. Could be mistaken though...
 
Comes Standard on Jap Imports , as hiwd said it's on the downpipe.

Most simply remove it when changing the downpipe. You can join the wires
together and tape them up this will stop the ECU displaying a fault code.
