When changing the engine oil should i do oil and filter? last service done by Dave did both, Will tackle this oil change myself. Which oil should i go for, and where could i get it today locally? Presume a standard genuine filter will do the job grand?

For the small price of a Standard Filter I'd change it everytime

Have a search on here for oils - everybody has an opinion on what's best ;)
I've always used Castrol RS 10w60 but Motul gets good reviews as well

Alan.

I've been told to change the filter too, stick with genuine subaru though, thats what i've been told anyway. Dunno if its worth going for an STi filter?

so it seems like 15w50 Motul would be the best. Is this worth the extra cost, compared to Castrol and Mobil 1 think its about 20-30 euro more expensive

Or 10-40 even. IMO Motul is the best but Mobil 1 or any of the other ones will do the job for a road car.

Im sure someone posted before that Halfords do 5 litres of Mobil 1 for €64. Motul 300v which is a proper ester based synthetic oil and is about €70 for 5 Litres so no where near €20 or €30. :ponder:

sorry to raise this again, need to do an oil change this weekend 8500 since last change :wall: so 10w40 ftw or 15w50. road car only cant see me getting too much track time!

OMG!

I ordered mine off Roger Clark today. Silkolene Pro S 10W 50 with Genuine Subaru Filter.

Dan you've spent a fortune on a nice leggy, and you're not afraid of the right pedal either

Spend the extra 40e on a decent oil
