I'm useless when it comes to this we've a classic impreza and i was checking out the engine bay the other day and below the top mount intercooler there's a second dipstick, i pulled it out and it was just below the lower mark, is this for the diff or gear box, and what should i be puttin in it

that wud be for the gearbox, oil goes in to it.
i use castrol sintrax

75w90 gear oil and fill through the dipstick hole.

Looks like it would be a pain in the arse to fill i guess thats why it wasn't done when it was serviced earlier in the week. Thanks guy's knew it was oil of some form just didn't know what type

Don't know whether this is any use but found a site with the full service manual for my model at least anyway http://www.ringtones4all.org/, i know it looks bogey but just copy and paste the link and its straight to the manual

Anybody have an clean way to top up the oil, or can you get a long funnel?

BTW, can you mix oil brands?

most of the bottles have a flexi funnel built in to the bottle, n no you defo shouldnt mix oil brands
