Anyone going to Mondello this weekend. We will be there with both cars, Philip and Brian. Philip ran very well in testing and should be strong, and Brian will be on the pace as usual. Drop into the garage and say hello. Testing on Saturday and racing on Sunday

Savage day in Mondello. Brian came in 3rd and Philip 6th, only hundreds of a second off Martin Tracey, well done lads. Brain's car is now leading the championship, with Philip in 4th place, ahead of CDA by 2 points. Martin is now our biggest rival, only 1 point behind us. No doubt, he will have some improvements for the next round, so we have to up the pace again. Both cars are still chaseing the "Holy Grail" of sub 1 minute. Congrat's to Sonny and CDA for the 59er lap, well done, no doubt, a strong return for the next round.

1 81 Robert Thornton Nissan Skyline 59.333
2 31 David Kerrigan Honda CRX / 1800cc 59.749
3 9 Brian Sexton Mitsubishi Evo 6 RS / 2000cc 1:01.003
4 1 Brendan Stone Honda Civic Type R / 1995 1:01.751
5 12 Martin Tracey Mitsubishi / 2000c T 1:01.999
6 25 Philip Burdock Subaru Type R / 2000cc 1:02.078
7 5 James Hughes Vauxhall Nova / 1998cc 1:05.942

Brian did a 1:00:836, and Philip a 1:01:634 in the morning session. The second session didn't really count as it was stopped, early.

Thanks too all in the garage for there hard work, and all the ISDC folks that came in to say hello, and support Philip.

It was a good day alright, fairly quiet at Mondello though, every boy racer in the country must have been over at heatwave?

Fair play john, good results there.

But that trackday performance skyline is unnatural in a straight line, must have been 30 - 40 mph faster than everything else on the straight? Its scary quick

actually it was 2.06,but whats a second.EVERTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my time was on the full international circuit as the time attack was on the national witch is abit smaller

philip was doing 1:56 on the full international last time out

Little brother Enda, ( Seat Ibiza 1.8t, the old 1) can run with any good Sti with a good driver, and his best lap's are high 1:08's. It take's a lot of work to get into the 1:05's, and every tenth after that is bloody hard found.

Philip, Brian and Martin Tracey and the rest, get out of there cars after 10 to 12 laps, and are sweaty and out of breath for a few minutes, it's not as easy as it looks. R888's are the weapon of choice as tyres go in Time Attack, both here and the UK, but Mondello, at this pace is very difficult and hard on driver's, car's and tyre's, that we find they have to come off the pace for a few laps and let them cool, and push again. There's no big straigh to let the tyres rest. When Brian wanted to do a round late last year we could only get a set of medium compound tarmac rally tyres at the minute. He destroyed them in 12 laps. They were buckled internally, egdes of them were splitting.
