Was up North today and on the way home when i turned the car on there was a noise which i can only describe as a gurgling sound from the back of the car. Could hear it again when the car was turned off. With it being from the back of the car i thought it was the fuel pump but wouldn't be too sure abpout that kind of thing. Anyone any idea's??

Cheers,
Mark

Did it come from under neath the rear seat area?

Have someone turn the key in the ignition (but dont start the car) and you get under the car at the rear wheel and listen for the fuel pump to prime.

more than likley the fuel pump id say.... did you get home alright???? was the tank low when this happened???

the gurglin is normally when the fuel level is low and the pump draws in air and fuel together....
if the car starts ok...then the pump will be fine

The tank was 3 quarters full at the time lads. The noise only came when the key was turned but not started. Is there much to changing one of these or would i be best getting a mechanic?
