hi juast a question for anyone who works or knows about diesels, Its a mates trooper was going well but was sitting for few weeks when he started it white smoke coming out of back, when you put a rev on it, starts ok and no loss in power, some fella said it would clear with bit of use, just cause its been sitting a while..anyone else any idea's
cheers

hi Mart,

have a close look at the smoke and see if it evaporates into the air. if it does theres nothing to worry about its just steam from water inside the exhaust caused by condensation building up in it while it was lying up.
if it doesnt evaporate and its white then more than likely its raw diesel. if you smell the smoke you should get a strong smell of raw diesel from it, its very possible with troopers as there the worst jeep around give terrible trouble with injectors, injectors seals, turbo's and blown engines which you cannot re-build only buy a brand new block from isuzu for over €6000!!!

yeah must have a look then no smoke at all when ticking over just when you give it a rev, leaves a trail of smoke behind it...he prod give it a good run see if it does any good..as it was grand before that..

If it's a 3.0 one it's probably as george said pump or injectors. They are a very troublesome engine. THe 3.1 is a far better jeep.
Cheers
John
