I want to change the gearbox oil in my 1998 Impreza Type-R (with centre diff) . i put the car on a lift yesterday and seen the bung on the bottom of the gearbox to let the old oil out ,that was no problem ,but i could not see an obvious place to put the oil back into the gearbox ,is there a bung or something on the side of the box that i should fill the oil up to it's level after letting the old oil out?

Look down the side of the intercooler on the drivers side and you'll see a metal dip stick with like a ring at the top for pulling it out.
Use a funell or something similar to fill up

yo man  its a bit of a pain in the ass if you use a funnel it will take ages!!......i just used a big syringe and a small peice of garden hose'..... fill a big jug up wit the Gbox oil and just keep filling the syringe up and squirt it down the hose' that way you can force the oil down nice and quickly

just cut a bit of garden hose about a foot long and put it into where the dipstick goes....thats what i did
