This might seem like a stupid question ,but i dont know what a knocklink is? :dunno: ...iv just seen them in Impreza's :ponder:
what is it for? :ponder:

Not 100% sure but i think they tell you how much detonation is happening in the engine so you can run safely. The more detonation, the more lights! I think!

While we're on the subject - I don't know what a tracker mortgage is :D

Yeah basically knocklink picks up knock (detonation) in your engine & warns you by sequence of lights.

I presume its just an advancement on the piezo-electric knock sensors that exist in most cars nowadays? ( would ya look at me rememberin my fás phase 6 lol)

On the boxer engine, do you need to get 2 sensors, one for each head? :ponder:

Or do you need one for each cylinder?

Or is it just one overall and then where would you put it? :dunno:

Cheers

it goes in the block....only one as far as i'm aware
your car should already have one...its just that theres no visual or audible signals....the ecu makes all the adjustments itself....
least thats my understandin of it

As above only one on the block, the ecu ajust accordingly, its just under intercooler next to the starter motor..
