Overheating?

I figured out what the engine check lite on my car is for, its code 21 which is the engine temperature coolant sensor. Normally the temperature guage sits perfect on half once heated. Although last night after a good hard drive it did shoot up a bit. Would this be a sign that its overheating or that there is some sort of blockage somewhere? OR something similar?

Is there coolant in it....? It must have gotten fairly warm if the analog clock on the dash moved. Eh I know with the Apexi ECU and controller your able to see the value in digital form which is more accurate, but even on the Commander the most it comes up to is 91-92deg C. Just ensure there is coolant in it and the auxillary fans come on when it does get hot. Best of luck
