well guys, moved the car out of the shed a while ago, left her tick over out in the yard, after moving her back in i spotted water on the ground, seems to be coming from the right side of the engine, around the timing belt cover,

im guessing the pump is ****ed..................either that or the pipes are leaking some where,i need to investigate further but it has to be the pump.....question is is this,is the pump a big job for a DIY,any good sources on the net for a new one, cheers lads

water pump, thermostat housing, crossover pipe, bottom rad hose. they are all in the same area. check the easy ones first. they are quite common to build up corrosion on the alloy stat cover and the hose won't seal then.

thanks guys will do,i wouldnt mind i only got the belt done 20k ago,im a dope for not doing the pump also, pissed off the mechanic didnt mention it either, live and learn,

dave i will check the basics and get back to you if the pump is screwed.cheers

I will say

No subaru do not advise a pump at belt change.

And you have not identified location of leak
