GC8?

HI guys,
Off to England tomo, hopefully to pick up my 1995 wrx wagon!
When talking to quinn direct today they asked did it have a GC8 engine? I dont know but if it does im going to be paying a good deal more, is it just the Sti's or the red tops with the gc8? or is it Quinn acting confused as usual! Many thanks for the help
 
I think GC8 is what all classic shape impreza's are. Its the start of the chassi number, GC8591123 for example could be the chassi number of your car.

Well guys had a look on the wagon, its a GF8, therefore Quinn have taken about 300 euro off, even though its the exact same as a GC8? i'm happy anyway!

They are not the exact same. GC8 is a Impreza saloon and GF8 is an Impreza wagon which is probably why the insurance was cheaper.
You havent said if you bought it but best of luck with it if you have.
 
i no of a lad in town that had a wagon insured as commercial.
all kitd out as a van. dont no what the insurace company said.
choose a different insurance comp!
 
i brought it! my first subaru! seems very clean, all jap service history backing up the mileage 87000km, spotless really. however could do with a set of tires and new brakes, and also a spring as the gear stick is flopping around the place a little!

Part number for the spring is S33022GA081 and its about 1.20euro
 
The 8 part of GC8 means it an ej20 (2litre) engine!
On the foresters "5" means 2litre and "9" means 2.5litre the old type car was an SF5 and my new model is SG9
