hi all, i have a slight rocker cover oil leak, oil filter side, dropping on the exhaust have been told its a engine out job is this right if so is it best to do both sides 06 sti. thanks.
 
Wouldn't say it would be fun trying to do it with engine in .

If it were mine I'd do everything I could while the motor is out
 
No way is it engine out job, the whole job both sides should cost you less than €200. Obviously half that for one side.
 
200 quid for rocker cover gaskets on a Subaru in situ no thanks hard earned money .i.d take it out to do it to be honest
 
Done in place is no issue. About 1 1/2 hours per side.


But if car has other things need doing. Say due a clutch. Could take engine out instead of box and do then with a timing belt etc.

thanks lads, thanks dave , i have 116 km up at the mo done t, belt water pump plugs at 94, so was thinging ofclutch dave if i came up would you do it, are you there on a saturday, i was only trying to get it done close to home as my wife is not well with cancer and cars are not top of the list at the mo but would still like to do it right. i have no prob leaving the car.

In fact sick hearing the word. Like Isis. Its needs to be eliminated
