Gearbox oil....

I just had a rebuild done on my gearbox as it had started to whine. I'm wondering now that im starting fresh what would be the very best oil to use.... At some stage I read somewhere that there is a new/special gearbox oil that lads are using. Just cant remember what the hell it was about....! Anyway if not, whats the best option. The car is a 2005 WRX. Cheers

The Subaru workshop manual says: GL5 (75W90.

So any good / high quality oil that meets that spec will do.

At the moment my car is running Millers Oils CRX 75w90 NT Competition full synthetic transmission oil.

Once you have a good oil the only other thing is to change it regularly enough... the manual says: For normal conditions Inspect every 30k miles or under heavy use when towing replace every 15k miles. Personally would just change every 30k miles regardless, unless I was seriously upping my power and doing a load of track days etc and then would probably change more often.

Mine just changed. 04 wrx . Used comma 75/90. Just normal use.
