Hi all

Have a knocking rear shock, was thinking of replacing with new ones.
What are the shocks to get that will give same or better performance
than the standard inverted red Sti shocks.

Not sure who the OEM manufacturer is for the Red inverted STI shock on the Type R; however the KYB Ultra SR is a good "OEM" shock and can definitely recommend them.

Some of the traders on here might be able to help with sourcing, or otherwise try Camskill in the UK.
 
Sure it's a shock knocking?

Drop links go on them and cause a knocking on the rear
 
Hi All

Drop links are new, the left rear shock is softer than other side as it sinks more to the left on twisty bends.
No sure does the grease nipple trick will sort that.

May look at prices of Ultra SR

Sounds like shock is worn out and need a set of new ones.

The greasing is needed when the knocking is due to the shock binding (getting stuck due to bad design), but if sagging then sounds like seals worn and not keeping pressure.

Cheap enough unit to replace though and back to full performance - will have more traction / grip too with new shocks.
