Thinking about getting 17" x 8" rims for, my v4 sti type r

From what i can find out a lot of ye are running 215/45/17. Rubber on the 7" or 7.5 " rim but would 225/45/17 be the better option for the wider 8" rim,

Thanks

215 45 17 on a classic Kieran

225 will usually rub on a classic so 215 is what lads use

Run 225 on the P1, no issues with 18s

Yeah I. See there's mixed views on this on other forums but on 17 rims I think ill go 215/45/17, I w a s just worried they'll be stretched a bit on a 8" wide rim

Roll the arches is the other thing you could do Kieran. I'd be fierce worried about the paint being chipped or damaged doh

i ran 18s on a 8" rim with 215 tyres and they looked stretched if thats what you want,

225 suit the 8" rim alot better but you will have rubbing on the rear but only with a load or on hard cornering

i also ran 225 on 17s but only on track and same thing i got rubbing

A slight different offset might cause or prevent this aswell

sound for feedback lads, is it a better idea to go 17 x 7 or 17 x 7.5 rim so over the 8 inch wide rim and play it safe at 215/45/17 :ponder2:

I'd go 7.5 myself to save any hassle.. Just be carefull of offset aswell..
