have a puzzler here and dont know how to get round it??

here goes my type r has kph 260 or what ever it is but according to the guys i got it off it reads in mph ie 30 is 30mph and not kph and so forth anyway what i dont get is i have some lockwood white dials which read mph 180 max but 30 on the face is a lot higher up on the mph than it is on the kph so looking at the clocks if i fit the 180mph ones to do 30 looking at them against the kph i would have to do around 45?? so how do i get round this or can i not???? :wall: :wall:

The 180 lockwood ones are for ordinary 180kph  jap impreza speedos. So if you have 260kph speedo clocks you would need to get 260kph lockwood kit. Or go get second hand 180kph speedos and fit lockwood kit to that and fit them in. If its reading in mph then more then likely it was brought in from north or UK and has a kph to mph converter fitted. It can be removed.

right?? were can i get some from then?? it is annoying yes it is in uk clocks are now kph and apparently read right so i am to presume the mph clocks are no good on imports?? i need kph for import cars that read 180 and not mph?? is this right does anyone have a link to were i can get these??? cheers gerry.

[/quote] I just bought a set of 280kph clocks off RCM in the UK (about 300 notes!). Where is the convertor normally so that I can remove it?

lockwood dials cost me £30 quid offf ebay althought they now sell em for £45!!!! 300 notes???!!!!!!!!

oh yeah converter is on side of gearbox at back of engine near bulkhead it will more than likely be a orange colour you cant miss it look directly in at front of engine from front and its on the left side of box (same side as airfilter)

They were a new set of STI clocks hence the price. I want to convert the car back to kph so no point in having a set of clocks that runout of numbers when you have 80kph to go!!
