New age induction kits good idea or bad?

Lads don't know much about above any advice would be great what's the general lie of the land when it comes to the above heard off a few people that the subarus don't like em and prefer a good quality panel filter (got the cosworth panel one in mine) things said include the cone filter drawing in hot air from the engine bay ect

Are there benifits to them over a good quality panel and which are good ?
 
I fitted a new maf to mine along with a pipercros foam induction kit back in 2007 when I bought my car then I mapped it and it's done over 110000 miles and no issues all I do is wash it with petrol and blow through with an airline to dry it at every service, so I'm sorry but I don't see an argument against fitting one
 
i had to get my maf rescaled after i fitted mine, but that was mainly due to the increased diameter of the piping compared to standard one. Fine once you map it, on most models they say its beneficial over 350bhp, find out of your airbox is a restriction first at current power if it isnt keep the money and spend it elsewhere
