Weird idle and oil??

Since ive got the car the idle has been a bit funny!! When the car is cold it dosent seem to rev up like it should and when it reaches normal operating temperature the idle goes up and down eg. 750rpm to 800rpm which is making the idle very rough!! What could cause this??

Also I serviced the car last week using fully synthetic 10w60. Is this oil ok?? Oh nd its a V5 Type R!! Sorry for the bad explanation folks im no good at this :yellowthumb:

Possibly the air idle control valve? You can try cleaning it yourself. Its attached to the pipe leading into the intercooler on the turbo car, this video will give you an idea where it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi-7eJOC7bM
