leaking power steering pump

this is the second pump on it no the first was a round 1 and it was always wet around it so i changed it for a newer 1 but now its leaking and wet looking around it .
are they a problem item or am i just unlucky . the last 1 leaked in hard driving and at trackdays and got worse . they werent overfilled and i couldnt see where they leaked from :dontknow:
 
While you have the engine out change it for a be5 legacy setup with remote tank.

Have you a v3/4 pump in it now?

Did you do that conversion to your yoke?

Yeah I have it done , no use on track having the bottle on top of the pump if the bearing is bad in the pump, it just boils and potential fire hazard.

If it's whining she'll boil the fluid, heat from the worn bearing transfers into the fluid. Throw the whole thing in the bin.

You would get all the bits of Dave handy.

I retained the factory Impreza p/s cooler as the legacy doesnt have, easy to do , not sure about the lines where it bolts up to the pump on the v1/2 , might need v3/4 lines to the rack to make it work.

I'll try get a few more pics if needed.

As you started the thread, it's probably fair to give you first refusal...but I'm pretty firm on 80 as that's what I paid for it!
