Hi,

Just a quick question regarding the timing belt change intervals on an impreza, reading the Haynes You&Your Subaru they advise that the belts should be changed every 3 years/45000 miles whereas speaking to a dealer they advised every 5 years, can anyone tell me the correct mileage to change the belts and the approx costs of getting the belts done as this is something that i will have to factor in when i pick up the new car.

cost really vary from dealer to dealer,and if you go private its going to be a lot cheaper...its a big enough job,the rad has to come out so makes it very much a labour job... :thumbsup:

Spot on six spoke I was told every 3 years or 45,000 miles  :dunno:
 
ya thats about right.. you may need to get them to check tensioners when your at it incase it needs to be replaced.. there not cheap
 
Autodata recommend upto 1999MY replacement every 45000 miles or every 3 years 2000MY on replacement every 60000 miles or every 4 years
