gearbox crunch

well lads, the car has started to slightly crunch when putting it into 4th gear.
it is the 98 gt555 turbo irish car, can i put a jap gearbox onto it or would i have to change loads of things to do that, or would it be easier to try find another irish/uk turbo gearbox.
any help appreciated.
 
not that hard 2 hours on a lift probley 4 on axle stands on the floor for the gear box i changed mine on the garage floor :thumbsup:
 
no it wont stop it man your problem is a worn out synchro hub on 4th gear your box needs a rebuild or replacement and a dave said box and diff together and you will be sorted
 
Do ye know of any for sale. Either just a box that will fit mine. Or the box and diff together.
Wat should I expect to pay for either of them.
Is there any things I should look out for if I'm looking at one that's outta car.

come on dave time is money :icon_grin: :icon_grin: ye 2 hours is tight but on a ramp it could be done . thats just a box. chainging the clutch and rear crank seal is not in that time . am i way out or just fast :dontknow: :icon_grin:
