relearn an idle ??

Sunday Drivers
anybody ever had to do this ?
my car has had the battery disconnected for a long time now and the idle was dropping and almost cutting out.
so i done a quick search and heard about a procedure to relearn the idle.

Never heard of that lad,I've heard of clearing faults and ECu's by doing various things with Ign and pedals etc but not that,Sorry...

i got the throttle body out with the icv and cleaned both they were pretty badly gummed up with black gunk and there is like this black-ish sensor when i opened up the icv, is it ok to spray this with carb cleaner or will it destroy it?

You have to do an idle relearn/adaption on a lot of modern cars if you remove or replace the throttle body but don't know what setup you have on your car.

No definitely not on this model, as dave said most likely icvbut this is only a plunger/ solenoid on side of the throttle body there is no sensor inside the icv that I am aware bar a position sensor for the plunger

problem solved!
looks like it was the icv iv'e been trying to figure this problem out for a while now and it runs perfect like the day i got it, delighted
