cooling system and finding engine

Hey all, i have 94 wrx and i am havin trouble bleeding da water system. a pipe blew off and it lost water,i refitted da pipe but since i topped it up its been overheating its like air in da system, just wondering would anyone know of any way of bleeding it threw?? to get the air out. da other question i av is where would i find da engine number on da engine itself? any help greatly appreciated guys....

Pull the cap off the header tank and start the car, leave it run for a few mins and the air will rise to the top. Fill a bit and run again. Repaet till header tank is full.
