What detailing/car care have you done today or recently

As the summer is kind of upon us I say a majority of us is out given the car some tlc.

Just like the "what work have you done to your car today" thread use this one to show of your shiny cars whether its a quick wash or full detail.

I will get the ball rolling.

Today got stuck into decontaminating the paintwork on my new blob.

The paintwork was full of tree sap, tar etc and has made the car in my eyes look dull and also it isfull of swirls. My plan for today was to remove all contamination sitting on the paint.

Here was my method of what I did.

WHEELS
Rinsed with water
Sprayed Orcard Autocare Wheel Cleanse 8-1 on and left to dwell for a few mins
Washed using various brushes, small microfibre mitt and meguiars shampoo
Tires cleaned with chemical guys degreaser and brush

BODYWORK
Rinse with water
Snow foamed with Demon Shine snow foam and left to dwell for around five mins
While it was dwelling I used a brush in all the crevices and tight spaces
Rinsed with water
Washed using the two bucket method and meguiars shampoo and meguiars lambs wool mitt
Detarred with Autosmart Tardis
De ironed with Orchard Autocare Iron Cleanse
I washed the car at this stage to remove the Tardis and iron cleanse and a bird dropping :new_2gunsfiring_v1:
Clay barred with Bilt hammer clay bar

Door/boot shuts and jams were cleaned with Orchard Autocare Citrus 20 - 1 using a brush

Windows were cleaned inside and out with chemical guys glassworks and exterior then given two coats of chemical guys jet seal 109.

Tires and plastics were dressed with Concept tire and trim dressing using a applicator pad.

Plan for tomorrow is to put some sort of protection on the bodywork as I won't have time to machine the many many swirls out for a few weeks as I want to get one or two small dings out before that stage also.

Anyway two pics only of my iPad as my good camera broke the other day.

Hope you all enjoyed the read and will keep my work up to date what I do over time.

Very nice Keith, mine last got a wash over the Easter period. Must dig out the bucket, rinse the cobwebs off and give her a clean.

Didn't see this thread I just put a post up in the link below of what I got up to today

**EDIT**

Just to keep the thread going il add what I did

Have the same discs on my wagon Jamie and not a sound out of them ;)

I had a free morning in the garage so I said I would get my wagon in for a full compound buff as it badly needed it, I washed it last night to save time today

I got the car in and started off with removing the bonnet scoop and vents

I then masked up all the trim and windows to keep the car as clean as I could

Next I sprayed the car with a tar remover and got scrubbing, its mad how clean you think your car is after just a wash this clearly shows how wrong i was after just doing the wing

Once done I went at the paint with 3M fast cut plus this took around an hour and a half to do the whole car top to bottom and got rid of all my deep scratches and left a nice finish

Next up was to do the whole car again with 3M ultra fine compound and this brought the paint back to its former glory :)

I then gave the whole car 2 coats of autoglym super resin polish and removed all the masking, next up was a final coat of chemical guys blacklight, this is applied and let cure for 15 minutes before its buffed off

While that was drying I stitched my front skirt back together and put it back on until I can get a new one, the end result is just what I wanted its like the day it rolled out of the oven apart from the marks on the front bumper

Something similar except hose was accidently turned on

Nice work Danny, what do you think of CG black light or is it your first time using it.

I think its great and have used it on a few cars its best used on black or really dark colours, I bought it for an rx7 I resprayed and I have never seen a black car shine so good, very easy to use as well

Jesus that RX has come a long when from when I saw it in your place a few weeks back... looks good in the non-metallic black too in fairness

was in a state alright last you seen it, i wasn't to sure on the two colours but it worked out in the end

some great work there lads . would make the average joe jealous and greatr results , cars look immaculate !

:subaru:

Nice work Keith looking forward to seen this in the flesh, never been in a Subaru now that I think of it :icon_biggrin:

Blacklight is not to bad, personally prefer Glossworkz Glaze or EZ Crème Glaze, wouldn't use it over AG super resin polish either, would of used it on its own tbh!

Cheers chris, only used the srp to give it some protection until next month when I'm off for two weeks and give the paintwork a proper detail down my mates garage. I had to just get rid of the tar and tree sap as it was killing me how rough the paint was when drying. Will use CG blacklight and CG black wax then or probably Bilt hammer wax as it was fantastic on the OPC.

Here is a pic now after new wheels and a few bits.
