Irregular boosting

Hey just wondering if any one had the same problem as me ..I have a 00 bug eye wrx sti with a wr1 engine .... Some days when I start up the car let her warm up and all that she will boost at .6 bar .. Then when I come out of work ill start it and it will boost at 1 bar .. Pull into the garage knock of the car fill up and start it again and it will boost at .8 .. Start it up the next day and it will boost at 1.3 and the boost controller kicks in as I have max boost to 1.1 ... Etc etc .. It's never the same boost always different .. Can anybody point me towards a starting point ... I am going to change the 90 degree bend between turbo and intercooler as it looks like it has had better days but I dout it's that as some days it will boost ok and other days barely any boost .. Thanks guys

sounds like a dodgy boost control solenoid to me or an actuator with a burst diaphram
[/quote]

Yeah was thinking them ... I might try clean out the solenoid... anyway of testing the actuator ???

yes there is but you need a pressure/vacuum hand pump have you got one?

No but I prob make one up in work :\

That car has an ebc installed.

That is way too high of boost at points.

Let us drive and view the car.

if you get the pump just put about 1.0 bar of pressure on the actuator and it should open a few mil then just wait and see does it hold the pressure if it does its fine

If the diaphragm was burst would it not stay at let's just say .5 bar.. why would it work perfect one day and not working another ???
