Best turbo upgrade?

Prodrive

Sunday Drivers
Had a post up about Classic Turbo's and a few lads mentioned VF23, VF25 and VF28. What's best and any idea on prices and who is reliable to approach to possibly buy one? Again I have a year 2000 GF8 Turbo, mods going in are Walbro, K&N panel filter, full Mongoose S/S 3 inch exhaust from turbo back, new age tmic, denso spark plugs, Apexi Power FC and I've just found out that there are bigger injectors already installed (green I think). Full service on all oils as well. Cheers.

id say the vf28 out of what you mentioned also being 2000 yours would have 440cc sti injectors iirc

440's should be yellow .

Vf 25 is from a B4 legacy so will not work

The Vf23, 24 and 28 will all do over 300hp mark, the 28 being the freshest of the bunch. What turbo is on it at the moment?

I think its a td04, I'll check later for code and post it up so you can check it fot me. Any prices for these turbo's?

All under 200 quid

Depends on condtion man in fairness, a good VF28 you could easliy get 250-300 sterling for it in the uk if you were bothered.
Here you would pay the same in euro for a mint low miler one.

I've had the heat shield off the turbo today but I can't see anything on the turbo or compressor to indicate a TD04 turbo. There where a few numbers which are 7714010 060, now I'm missing two digits as I couldn't make them out. Does this mean anything?

It should have a marking stating it's a TD04 if it is one. I sold a mint VF28 about a year ago to a member with 53k kms on it for 250 so u should find one for similar money or less.

With all the mods your doing would it not be best to just buy a jap Sti wagon??

Usually can be hard to make out while the turbo's still on the car

as jamie said it should have markings on it similar to the pic below i have a low mileage vf28 there for 250 ono
