Forester 2003 - rear suspension question...???

Hey all,

My dads 03 forester XT is in need of new rear shocks. I gather they are self leveling as standard for when you're towing. I also gather the OE ones are crazy money from Subaru.

Can you replace them with a non- self leveling regular shocks... If so... Does anyone know who stocks them? Who makes the OE ones for Subaru??? Are they KYB.. or am I mistaken?

they are kyb's, i can get them. but you'll need springs as well.

Hi jamie. I tried this on my fathers forester and it didnt work too well so i just got the originals in the end.

What was the issue with them Luke?

I sold my old Forester to these lads as well. An oh God u should see how it looked after modifications
All of that is done in Lithuania, but it's just as a pointer.

There is also one trader in UK who has pretty much all range of shocks/springs for Foresters.
