Was on classic sti?

Excuse my ignorance, but assuming its made of half decent quality stainless steel is 3 inch diameter, and is bent arount the shape of standard exhaust as most exhaust systems are, and it is completely free flowing as most sports exhausts have little to no restiction. is there any advantage in buying an exhaust from a more established manufaturer at 2 or 3 times the price? :dontknow:

Sometimes have fitting issues with cheaper exhausts in my experience not sure about other people.
Mine is a jetex 3" cat back which which was £300 delivered ( I think are more expensive now as manufacturing costs have good up) only has one silencer and the back and not over loud still makes good power and unknown decat.fit is perfect and very tight to the diff so no banging off the road

I think the japspeed one's are ok

For 220 euro to the door surely worth a punt, make a nice wall ornament in the garage if it's sh*t.
Gretts did you fit it yourself ? Any issues? Hangers not lining up and stuff?

Ah definitely man, just be a shame to put something cheap on a car where money has been spent on higher quality parts elsewhere. Not a dig at lads with cheaper exhausts but they mostly all have the same jap style huge tail pipe look I wouldnt be hugely into .

No issues fitting, and flexi pipe fine.

As said have never "SEEN" a flexi in a Japspeed exhaust.

And the pics of first link at top of thread has flexi in downpipe.

the japspeed link had it in centre section so assume not same exhausts.

I had a very nice OLD set of high end pipes on my Sti, they became brittle and started cracking around the collector... In a pinch, after dropping $4k on my car, I went with a cheap ebay set... They required minor refinements and didn't have the aerodynamic-reverse venturi-thing where the four pipes came together under the turbo, but worked fine for a long time, holding some decent power and no real difference. I ended up getting the slip joints tig welded and was tickled pink, I put 30,000 miles on em and never had an issue!
